Median price in April was $753,000. This is down 28.0% from $1,045,556 in April of 2013. 3-month median price of $1,074,500 in April was down slightly from $1,184,500 in March and down just slightly from $1,086,250 in April of 2013.

Inventory of 42 in April was up 7.7% from 39 in March but down 62.2% from 111 in April of 2013. New listings of 18 in April were down moderately from 25 in March and down considerably from 51 in April of 2013. Months of supply of 2.3 in April was up slightly from 2.1 in March but down substantially from 7.4 in April of 2013.

Days on market of 178 in April was up a little from 163 in March and way up from 90 in April of 2013. This is the highest days on market has been since May, 2009.

Bicycle Sundays On The Bronx River Parkway 2014 Schedule



Every year the a section of the Bronx River Parkway from White Plains to Scarsdale Rd, Yonkers gets transformed into an outdoor free for all.  The parkway is closed from 10am-2pm to cars and open to bicyclists, joggers, walkers, scooters, and any other form of physical movement.  The entire course clocks in at 13.1 round trip miles.  This year the remaining dates are May 11, 18, June 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, and September 7, 14, 21, 28.  Below are some rules that all must follow...

Bicycle Sundays Rules and Regulations
  • Bicyclists, in-line skaters, scooters, walkers and joggers ONLY; no motorized vehicles allowed.
  • Walkers, joggers and slower wheeled traffic must use right lane; faster wheeled traffic must use left lane.
  • Helmets are required by New York State law for children under 14 years of age, including those riding in bike trailers, and are recommended for all wheeled participants.
  • New York State law prohibits children under age one from riding on bicycles or in a separate seat.
  • All headsets are prohibited; this includes but is not limited to music devices and hands free cell phones.
  • No skateboarding allowed.   
  • No dogs allowed.
  • Bicyclists must obey posted parkway speed limit of 40 m.p.h.
  • Children riding in strollers must be strapped in at all times.
  • Children under age 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • All participants must be off the parkway by 1:50 p.m.
  • Stay alert and be considerate of others.

Zoos and Nature Centers in New York City 2014

My first installment featured zoos and nature centers across Westchester County NY.  This installment focuses on New York City and the boroughs within.  There is hope for finding peace, nature, and beauty amidst the day to day craziness of the City.

Manhattan
